About Mira

Mira has been drawing her whole life. She began taking pet portrait commissions at 14, developing an early fluency in the negotiation between personal vision and collaborative constraint. A lifelong fascination with film photography deepened at 15 when she inherited her grandfather’s Canon T70, she has since expanded into Super 8, drawn to the grain and temporality of analog image-making. She pursued physics at university before returning to the arts. She makes music with her father as The Entropes and publishes poetry on her Substack, Shucked. This is a trajectory that continues to inform the rigor and curiosity she brings to her work.

This wide breadth of interest and skill leads to a synthesis which draws her toward cinematography and art direction as a natural culmination. To compose a frame is to ask the same questions she has always asked through music, poetry and paint, what a thing looks like when it is most itself, how light and space and time can be arranged to hold something true. She sees this discipline as the place where her creativity converges into something that does not belong to any one medium but could only have been made by moving through all of them.
